This Friday, May 15th will be the last day of online instruction for all middle school students.  The virtual 8th Grade Continuation Ceremony will be on Monday, May 18th at 7:00 pm.  A link has been shared on your child’s Google Classroom or you may tunein to watch the ceremony on TV on channel 22.7.

CHROMEBOOKS, SCHOOL LIBRARY/TEXTBOOKS  & STUDENT’S BELONGINGS EXCHANGE WEEK:

Next week Monday, May 18th - Wednesday, May 20th, has been reserved for students to return the Chromebooks and any library or textbooks they may have checked out during the online learning sessions. During this time the school faculty will be returning student’s personal belongings to them.  Teachers will provide a curbside exchange similar to when the Chromebooks were distributed in March. This will be a great time for your child to see their teachers one last time before the summer break.  Please follow the schedule listed below to help make the exchange process run more smoothly.  If you have children in multiple grades please attend your oldest child’s exchange time session.

CLASS REGISTRATION FOR THE FALL OF 2020 - 2021

The current 5th grade students transitioning to the middle school in the fall of 2020 have be given virtual tours and an opportunity to register for classes last week. Please check with your child’s elementary school for the links to the virtual registration process. The deadline to register is TODAY for incoming 6th grade only.

The registration for classes for the 2020-2021 school year for the 7th and 8th grade students will take place in August.

The entire M-CMS faculty would like to thank parents and the community for your support during the fast transition to the online learning platform. We missed seeing and interacting with students on campus, but are glad the district took precautions to keep everyone safe.  If you have questions please feel free to reach out to me at kott@cortez.k12.co.us.

Sincerely,

Kate Ott, Principal
