Principal’s Corner

My name is Melissa Carver,

I am excited to serve as the principal for Mesa Elementary. I am committed to providing students with the resources, instruction, and character development necessary to excel academically and socially. 

I have lived in Cortez most of my life. I am married with two boys. My family enjoys spending time camping, on the lake, or doing outdoor activities. 

I come to Mesa with 17 years of teaching experience and two years of administrative experience. I hold a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies (elementary education), a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, and an educational specialist degree in educational leadership. I look forward to having an excellent school year and contributing to the success of our Mesa students.
