Principal’s Corner

My name is Robert Laymon.

I am currently Mesa Elementary School's Principal. I previously served as an Assistant Principal, Dean of Students, 4/5 th grade teacher, and a Special Education Para-professional. I have a Masters Degree from Adam's State University, and Bachelor Degrees from Fort Lewis College and California State University, Fullerton.

Before I began my career in education, I drove stagecoaches for Knott's Berry Farm, Bartels' Mancos Valley Stagecoach, and Well's Fargo Historical Department. Educating our youth is my top priority.

Assisstant Principal 

My name is Crystal Croke,

I am the Assistant Principal for Mesa Elementary School. Before moving into administration this year, I was a classroom teacher for 12 years in second through fourth grade. I have a Masters in Educational Leadership and a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies through Fort LewisCollege.

I have lived in this area most of my life, and actually attended Mesa Elementary as a child. My husband of 20 years and I have two children, our daughter Dianna lives in California with her husband, and our son Trevor is a junior at the Montezuma Cortez High School. My goal for Mesa is to continue building a strong educational team that helps shape our wonderful students into successful, productive, and thriving adults in the future.
