Student registration

**Important Update**   **ALL ENROLLMENT FORMS ARE AVAILABLE NOW**

Parent/Guardian(s), we are in the midst of an exciting change to our Student Information System (SIS). For the 2024-25 school year we will begin using a new application called Alma. If you need any Alma enrollment support prior to staff returning to the school offices you may email: almahelp@cortez.k12.co.us for assistance.

Parent/guardian accounts for the students who completed the 23-24 school year at a school within the Montezuma-Cortez School District (including ALL charter schools) were activated on July 18th and an email with your username and password were sent to the email address we have on file. If you did not receive an account activation email please check your Spam folder for the email. If you did not receive an activation email please email almahelp@cortez.k12.co.us with your name, your child's name and the school they completed the 23-24 school year at OR contact your child's school directly for assistance.

The Returning Student Enrollment process was published for public access on July 18th and the New Student Enrollment processes have been published for each school on July 19th. 

If you intend to transfer your student to another school within the district please contact the school your child attended for the 23-24 school year to notify them that your student will not be returning. Then contact the school your child will be transferring to so your child can be added to the Transfer Student enrollment process at the new school. PLEASE DO NOT complete a New Student Enrollment form for ANY student who completed the 23-24 school year at any school within the Montezuma-Cortez School District. We will not be able to process it as it will generate a duplicate entry for your child in Alma.

If your child completed the final grade offered at their previous school in the 23-24 school year they have been assigned in Alma to the school that serves the next grade level. All students who have completed 5th grade at Kemper, Mesa or Lewis Elementary Schools are now RETURNING STUDENTS in 6th grade at Montezuma-Cortez Middle School. All students who completed 8th grade at Montezuma-Cortez Middle School are now RETURNING STUDENTS in 9th grade at Montezuma-Cortez High School. Please do not submit a New Student Enrollment for these students, we will not be able to process the form as it will create a duplicate student in our system.

Please note that if you have an existing Alma Parent account you may add a new child to your account to complete a New Student Enrollment for them by clicking on your initials in the upper right hand corner and selecting the "Alma Start" option. From the Alma Start screen click on the green plus sign in the lower left to add your child. Once they have been added to your account you can click on the "Begin a Process" button in the upper right to select the School, School Year and Grade Level the student will be enrolling at for the 24-25 school year.

If you do not have an existing Alma Parent account and your family is entirely new to the Montezuma-Cortez School District you should use the link to Alma Start option from the dropdown of Alma login pages above to submit any New Student Enrollments needed for your child(ren). Once your child(ren) have been enrolled your Alma Start account will be converted to an Alma Parent account.

To apply for Beech Street Preschool for the 2024-2025 school year, please click on the following link https://upk.colorado.gov/pages/apply. After submitting the application, please send an email to Andrea Martinez (andrea.martinez@cortez.k12.co.us) with your child's name, DOB, address, and phone number. Once you have completed the UPK application please complete the 2024-2025 Pre-K Enrollment process via Alma Start. All students attending Beech Street Pre-School are considered New Students for the 24-25 school year.

The important Health Services Questionnaire has been assigned to all Returning Students for the parents to complete via their Alma Parent account like the Returning Student Enrollment forms. For New Student enrollments the Health Services Questionnaire will be added to your Alma Parent account for completion once your child's enrollment has been processed and their student record has been created in Alma. Please be sure to complete this required form as it provides important information for our Health Services Staff.
