"Dude...Be Nice" Starts This Week!

dude be nice starts this week article

Happy Sunday everyone!

Just a friendly reminder that this week the Sources of Strength crew (with support from The Piñon Project, Towaoc Behavioral Health, and the Rainbow Alliance lunch group) will be holding their "Dude....Be Nice" campaign. In an effort to promote a positive school culture, we are asking students and staff to participate in random acts of kindness and show their MCMS spirit with the following activities:

Monday - We will support our rad classmates with encouraging sticky notes in the lunch room. Be sure to say a kind word, especially to someone you may not normally talk to. Wear your hair in a wacky way to show your school spirit!

Tuesday - Express gratitude to our dedicated school staff by bringing your teachers, support staff, bus drivers, administrators, cafteria workers, custodians, and secretaries a gift. It could be flowers, cookies, a thank you note, or anything really. Wear a mixed up wardrobe to show your school spirit!

Wednesday - Plan a way to reach out to an individual or a group in our community and do something kind for them. It can be a kind word or a thank you note or a grand gesture, just be sure to do something nice to show our community how much we care for it. Wear a "superhero" outfit to show your school spirit!

Thursday - We will be recognizing our students and school staff for those who exemplify what it means to be nice. We will also have our assembly for academic achievement, most improved student, and good citizenship awards. Parent-teacher conferences will take place after school from 5:00 - 6:30 pm (by appointment) and from 6:30 pm - 8:00pm (walk-ins welcome). Wear your MCMS jersey or MCMS colors (orange and black) to show your school spirit!

Friday - We will have parent-teacher conferences from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm (walk-ins welcome). After conferences, Sources of Strength will be taking part in the Homecoming Parade to raise community awareness about our mission. We hope to see you there!
