Weekend Sports Update:

Panther Wrestling traveled to Norwood and came home with the following places in their weight classes: Austin Featherman 1st Place, Jayven Valdez 2nd Place, Ethan Root 2nd Place, Jaquin Laner and Casen Allmon 4th Place, and Ryan Pitkin 5th place. Our Wrestlers will be in Blanding Thursday and at the Sand Devil Classic in Page, Arizona this weekend. Great job wrestlers and good luck!

Lady Panther Basketball had 2 wins for girls C team against Pagosa Friday night and Bayfield Saturday! The JV girls lost both games. The Varsity Girls lost to Pagosa 62-33, but then gave us an exciting Saturday game against Bayfield beating them 44-43.

Our men's Panther Basketball also took on Pagosa Friday and Bayfield Saturday. The boys C team had a big win Friday but a loss Saturday. The JV boys lost both games. The Varsity won a nail-biter Friday 48-47 and then gave us a little stress Saturday with a 66-49 win over Bayfield.

All of the basketball teams travel to Alamosa this Friday and Centauri on Saturday expect the C teams. All C games were cancelled by the hosting schools. Good Luck Panthers!

New News:

The newest club at M-CHS is looking for Panthers to join. Please stop by Mr. Kelley’s Room #1208 to sign up for the “Centennial Flyers Disk Golf Club”! We will start Feb. 22nd and go until May 15th. The Club will meet up each Saturday from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM in front of the Police Station in Centennial Park. Come join us for some Frisbee Golf!

All juniors interested in taking the SAT Essay test need to go by the Guidance Office and sign up before February 18th.

SENIORS - If we have enough new orders, we will do a second printing of senior shirts.  Go see Mrs. Wisenbaker - they are still $15 and orders are due on Jan 31 - next Friday.

All students who have registered for the February 8, ACT exam, please check your email for information about your new test center location. ACT has closed the M-CHS center for this date due to low registration. Contact ACT directly with any questions or concerns.

Preseason Baseball will have Crossfit on Wednesdays right after school, at Mountain Range Fitness starting January 22nd. You must bring a signed waiver before working out. Also preseason workouts at Evangel Church gym are coming up. We have the gym setup but the space available is not large enough to allow all players to come at the same time.  Coach Passell will be breaking the groups up to allow a better workout day. We have the gym on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday; (Friday or Sat) if basketball is home on Friday we will do a Saturday. We have a (batting cage, side tees), (Pitching mound/ catcher setup) and (agility glove work and shoulder workouts side). Coach Passell will manage these as groups so not all players will workout each day.

Ladies Soccer will have two open gyms coming up for indoor soccer. Join us Jan. 31st and Feb. 7th from 4:45-6:30 PM in the Main Gym.
