COLORADO SOCIETY OF MAYFLOWER DESCENDANTS SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE:  FEBRUARY 1, 2020

The Colorado Society of Mayflower Descendants is proud to award two $1,620 scholarships each year. The driving force of the application is the completion of a thoughtful, well-written essay which explores the history and influence of the Mayflower Compact. BURG SIMPSON SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 1, 2020

Burg Simpson is a leading law firm, nationally and in Colorado, and we recognize the importance of access to a good education. Each year we encourage Colorado high school seniors to write a 1,500 word essay about the importance of the civil jury system as the guardian of American rights and liberties.  There are 10 award winners, one scholarship of $2,500 and nine scholarships of $1,000 each. STEVE WESTHOFF SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE:  FEBRUARY 12, 2020

The Steve Westhoff Scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors planning to attend a college/university with the intent to pursue studies in civil engineering (such as structural, architectural, traffic/transportation, water, wastewater and environmental engineering), mechanical and electrical engineering, or surveying. PINNACOL FOUNDATION SHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE:  FEBRUARY 15, 2020

Pinnacol Assurance, Colorado’s leading provider of workers’ compensation insurance knows that life can be a lot harder when a parent is seriously injured or killed in a work-related accident. That’s why they created a scholarship program to ensure that despite things being beyond your control, you can still have an opportunity to pursue your academic goals.

Applicants must:

  • Be the child of a worker who was injured or killed in compensable work-related accident in Colorado and who was entitled to benefits under the CO Workers’ Compensation Act.
  • Be between the ages of 16-25 at the time of the application deadline.
  • Have and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • Have a high school diploma or GED, or be a high school senior.

EMPIRE ELECTRIC ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 17, 2020

Each year, Empire Electric offers scholarships for high school seniors who are dependents of a member of Empire Electric. 

  • Student Scholarship ($1,000) - available for students who plan on attending a two-year community college or a four-year college/university program. 
  • Electrical Related Trade Scholarship ($500) - for those students who are seeking an electrical related trade vocational/technical school.
  • Lineman School Scholarship ($1,000) - for individuals pursuing a vocational/technical certificate as a lineman

$1,000 VALENTINE’S DAY SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 29, 2020

Love it or hate it, February is all about Valentine’s Day. Now is your chance to tell us how you really feel (good or bad) about all that mushy love stuff and overspending. Create the perfect poem to summarize your true feelings about Valentine’s Day and you could win $1,000 for college expenses.

COLLEGE BOARD OPPORTUNITY SCHOLARSHIPS

DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 29, 2020

This unique scholarship program is open to all students regardless of income, citizenship status, GPA, or test scores. Students are guided to complete six essential steps that move them closer to college, scholarships rage from $500-$40,000, for two- or four-year institutions. TIM COOPER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE: MARCH 1, 2020

The Four Corners Chapter of Safari Club International (Four Corners SCI) has established the Tim Cooper Memorial Scholarship Fund in support of and to promote good fellowship among all who love the outdoors and hunting. The scholarship will award a student who engage in the purpose of our Mission, with $4,000, funds will be distributed annually in the amount of $1,000 per year for four years. DRIVESAFE SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE: MARCH 1, 2020

In an effort to teach teenagers about the importance of making safe choices, DriveSafe Driving Schools is pleased to announce the DriveSafe Scholarship Essay Competition.  On April 15th, DriveSafe will award a scholarship of $1,500 to a high school senior who plans to attend college in 2020. To compete for the scholarship, students must write a 500 word or less essay about safe decision-making and the role it plays not only while behind-the-wheel but in all aspects of life. COLORADO GARDEN FOUNDATION

DEADLINE: MARCH 15, 2020

This scholarship offered by Colorado Garden Foundation is a four-year full-ride scholarship available to an incoming freshman resident from Colorado at a publicly funded Colorado college or university. This scholarship includes tuition, fees, room & board, and all required books for the four years. In addition, the student will be given a laptop computer and printer at the start of their freshman year. Applicants must be majoring in one of these fields of study

COLORADO COUNTY CLERKS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE:  MARCH 27, 2020

The Colorado County Clerks Association scholarship is established to aid outstanding Colorado graduating high school seniors in furthering their education, particularly in the field of public service. The scholarship award may be used for educational expenses at an institution of higher learning including university, college, junior/community college, or technical institution. $1,000 ST. PATRICK’S DAY SCHOLARSHIP

SleePare SCHOLARSHIP

SOUTHWESTERN COWBELLES AG SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE:  APRIL 1, 2020

The Southwestern Cowbelles are pleased to announce that they will be awarding two $1,000 agricultural scholarships. Any 2019 graduating senior from Montezuma County who will be pursuing post high school education in Agriculture is eligible to apply whether it be college, technical or trade schools. FRAME MY FUTURE SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE: APRIL 1, 2020

Unlike most traditional scholarships, there are no essays to write, no grade or academic requirements - it is all about creativity. With the Frame My Future Scholarship, students are challenged to create a visual entry, whether it is  a photograph, collage, painting, illustration, poem, short story - any single piece that demonstrates what he/she would like to do in their personal and professional life after college. THE KIWANIS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

CHAPTER EV OF P.E.O. SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE:  APRIL 7, 2020

This $1,000 scholarship is available to female residents of Montezuma County who are planning to enroll in a recognized program to further their education. The decision of the committee will be weighted toward those with identified educational goals, a proven financial need, and evidence of determination to attain their educational goals. Applications are available in the Counseling Office.

WENCO KELLY DE LA TORRE SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE:  APRIL 17, 2020

The Women’s Energy Network of Colorado (WENCO) Kelly de la Torre Scholarship Fund was established in memory of former founding member of Women in Energy friend Kelly de la Torre. To be eligible for the scholarship, all of the following requirements must be met:

  • Must be female, attend high school and reside in Colorado
  • Must be going into one of the S.T.E.M.  fields
  • Must have an average 3.5 GPA WITH proof from a high school transcript
  • Must plan to attend an accredited 4-year university
  • Must have proof of registration prior to disbursement of scholarship funds
  • Must have two letters of recommendation (non-relatives)

FROM CLASSROOM TO CLASSROOM SCHOLARSHIP

Education.com is awarding a $5,000 college scholarship to a deserving high school senior interested in pursuing a career in teaching. Our scholarship is called the From Classroom to Classroom Scholarship, and we are on a mission to make an impact in the lives of aspiring teachers in America.
