MONTEZUMA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 21, 2020

The Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office is offering their annual scholarship. The award will be $1,000. This effort is a meaningful expression of the Sheriffs’ confidence in and respect for education and training. Any permanent legal resident of Montezuma County who plans to enroll in a vocational training program or institution of higher learning within the state of Colorado as a full or part time student for the 2020-21 school year is eligible. Must be a legal U.S. resident. TIM COOPER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE: MARCH 1, 2020

The Four Corners Chapter of Safari Club International (Four Corners SCI) has established the Tim Cooper Memorial Scholarship Fund in support of and to promote good fellowship among all who love the outdoors and hunting. The scholarship will award a student who engage in the purpose of our Mission, with $4,000, funds will be distributed annually in the amount of $1,000 per year for four years. DRIVESAFE SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE: MARCH 1, 2020

In an effort to teach teenagers about the importance of making safe choices, DriveSafe Driving Schools is pleased to announce the DriveSafe Scholarship Essay Competition.  On April 15th, DriveSafe will award a scholarship of $1,500 to a high school senior who plans to attend college in 2020. To compete for the scholarship, students must write a 500 word or less essay about safe decision-making and the role it plays not only while behind-the-wheel but in all aspects of life. COLORADO MASONS’ BENEVOLENT FUND SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE: MARCH 15, 2020

These scholarships are designed to provide financial assistance to deserving students. In the past, scholarship awards have ranged up to $7,000 per year, and are renewable for up to 4 years. Scholarships are intended to assist in obtaining an undergraduate degree from a college or university, or training in other accredited schools of higher education within the State of Colorado. COLORADO GARDEN FOUNDATION

DEADLINE: MARCH 15, 2020

This scholarship offered by Colorado Garden Foundation is a four-year full-ride scholarship available to an incoming freshman resident from Colorado at a publicly funded Colorado college or university. This scholarship includes tuition, fees, room & board, and all required books for the four years. In addition, the student will be given a laptop computer and printer at the start of their freshman year. Applicants must be majoring in one of these fields of study

INDEPENDENT BANKERS OF COLORADO SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE:  MARCH 20, 2020

Independent Bankers of Colorado (IBC) will award at least two $1,000 one-year scholarships, to be applied to a university, college, community college, or vocation/trade school in Colorado. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Student or parent/guardian must have a banking relationship at an IBC member bank or branch (Dolores State Bank, First National Bank Cortez, or First Southwest Bank) for at least six months. COLORADO COUNTY CLERKS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE:  MARCH 27, 2020

The Colorado County Clerks Association scholarship is established to aid outstanding Colorado graduating high school seniors in furthering their education, particularly in the field of public service. The scholarship award may be used for educational expenses at an institution of higher learning including university, college, junior/community college, or technical institution. Applications are available in the Counseling Office.

 

CWOA - COLORADO WATER OFFICIALS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE:  MARCH 27, 2020

Applicants must have a goal for education in the following: Water Resources, Environmental Sciences, Engineering or Agricultural Studies. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.80. Applicant must enroll at a Colorado college or university. Must reside in the San Juan/Animas/Dolores River Drainages (Water Division 7). Application must be postmarked March 27, 2020 or received in CWOA’s office on March 30, 2020. More information and applications are available in the Counseling Office.

THE ROCKY MOUNTAINEERS SCHOLARSHIP

The Rocky Mountaineers, a USDA Forest Service retiree and employee organization is offering an opportunity to apply for four $1,500 scholarships. SleePare SCHOLARSHIP

SleePare believes in giving back to society and the importance of receiving an education, they actively support U.S. students working towards their dream education. In order to apply, students must submit a 5-minute video discussing the following questions:

SOUTHWESTERN COWBELLES AG SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE:  APRIL 1, 2020

The Southwestern Cowbelles are pleased to announce that they will be awarding two $1,000 agricultural scholarships. Any 2019 graduating senior from Montezuma County who will be pursuing post high school education in Agriculture is eligible to apply whether it be college, technical or trade schools. FOUR CORNERS BAR ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE:  APRIL 1, 2020

This scholarship is awarded by the Four Corners Bar Association, which is the chapter of the Colorado Bar Assoc. for attorneys and judges in the 22nd Judicial District (Montezuma County). Graduating seniors who will be attending an accredited College or University are eligible. There are no requirements that any specific major course of study be pursued. The scholarship award is $500, which may be renewed for three additional years at $500 per year (for a total scholarship award of $2,000). FRAME MY FUTURE SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE: APRIL 1, 2020

Unlike most traditional scholarships, there are no essays to write, no grade or academic requirements - it is all about creativity. With the Frame My Future Scholarship, students are challenged to create a visual entry, whether it is  a photograph, collage, painting, illustration, poem, short story - any single piece that demonstrates what he/she would like to do in their personal and professional life after college. SHAUN M. McANDREW MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE: APRIL 1, 2020

This fund provides scholarships to goal-oriented, athletic students in post-secondary educational programs.

Requirements:

  • At least a 3.58 GPA & have taken the SAT or ACT
  • Member of National Honor Society
  • Participated in at least two M-CHS athletic programs (each of which for four years, at the varsity level for at least two in each)
  • Open to all areas of study

THE HENRY CONE SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE: APRIL 1, 2020

The Henry Scholarship will be for a graduating senior that intends on enrolling at a 4 year institution to study engineering or science. Applicant will be judged on creativity, enthusiasm, graphic content, academic achievement, social (and community) involvement, quality of presentation, character, commitment to excellence, leadership, obstacles overcome and general merit.

THE BILL CONE SCHOLARSHIP

M-CHS ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP

The M-CHS Alumni Scholarship was created by a former 2003 graduate that wanted to contribute to other students’ education.

Requirements:

  • At least a 3.2 GPA
  • Open to all areas of study

ROLAND R. SCHNEIDER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE: APRIL 1, 2020

This scholarship is intended to give financial assistance to a worthy deserving student of M-CHS pursuing either an associate degree or a bachelor’s degree. Consideration will be given to your scholastic standing, character, desire to obtain a college education and economic needs. Open to all areas of study. THE BILL & PEG REES SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE: APRIL 1, 2020

The purpose of the scholarship is to offer significant financial aid to students who have a clear goal for their education after high school and who demonstrate both financial need and the ambition and potential to achieve their goal. THE KNIGHTS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Cortez Knights of Columbus Council 4209 has established an endowment fund to honor the memory of deceased member Knights of Council 4209.

Woods Canyon Archaeological Consultants, Inc., has a scholarship for the purpose of aiding dependents (children or grandchildren) of current or past WCAC employees. Consideration will be given to scholastic standing, character, desire to obtain a college or vocational education and economic needs. TRI-CITY SOCCER ASSOCIATION COLLEGE ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE:  APRIL 1, 2020

Thanks to generous donations throughout its history, Tri-City Soccer Association has been able to create a scholarship supporting former M-CHS Varsity Soccer Players as they pursue their post-secondary education.

Requirements:

  • Must be a senior who has received a varsity letter for soccer at M-CHS for at least 3 years of their high school career
  • Plan on attending college, university, or vocational school
  • Minimum 3.2 GPA

THE KIWANIS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE:  APRIL 6, 2020

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers committed to changing the world one child and one community at a time. Scholarship award is $1,000. Pick up an application in the Counseling Office.

 

CHAPTER EV OF P.E.O. SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE:  APRIL 7, 2020

This $1,000 scholarship is available to female residents of Montezuma County who are planning to enroll in a recognized program to further their education. The decision of the committee will be weighted toward those with identified educational goals, a proven financial need, and evidence of determination to attain their educational goals. Applications are available in the Counseling Office.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN FARMERS UNION SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE:  APRIL 15, 2020

RMFU will be awarding up to $7,000 in higher education scholarships this year! Applicant must be a current regular or associate member of Rocky Mountain Farmers Union. Scholarships are available to students who will be attending a 2 or 4 year accredited college or university. All areas of study are accepted. FOUR CORNERS BOARD OF REALTORS DEAN HANSON SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE:  APRIL 15, 2020

Any student seeking higher education that has attended high school in Montezuma or Dolores Counties may file an application. Scholarship, leadership, and financial need are the criteria, which will be used to judge applicant’s qualifications. KIT FARAGHER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE: APRIL 17, 2020

Established in 2003, the Kit Faragher Foundation awards scholarships to Colorado high school students. The recipients will receive $10,000 each, distributed over the first two years of their college, university, or technical school program. These scholarships will support four Colorado high school seniors who have earned cumulative 2.5 GPAs, are in need of financial assistance, and who demonstrate positive attitudes, strong commitments, and drives towards accomplishment. WENCO KELLY DE LA TORRE SCHOLARSHIP

DEADLINE:  APRIL 17, 2020

The Women’s Energy Network of Colorado (WENCO) Kelly de la Torre Scholarship Fund was established in memory of former founding member of Women in Energy friend Kelly de la Torre. To be eligible for the scholarship, all of the following requirements must be met:

  • Must be female, attend high school and reside in Colorado
  • Must be going into one of the S.T.E.M.  fields
  • Must have an average 3.5 GPA WITH proof from a high school transcript
  • Must plan to attend an accredited 4-year university
  • Must have proof of registration prior to disbursement of scholarship funds
  • Must have two letters of recommendation (non-relatives)

The American Indian College Fund has Full Circle Scholarships available for Native students ranging from $1,000-$20,000 per year. Must meet the following eligibility requirements:
