I'd like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of the parents and staff at Manaugh Elementary School for their dedication and commitment shown during the 2021-22 school year.
As you are aware, there is an emergent staff shortage at this school. There are eighteen (18) unfilled positions, including core teaching and ESS positions. Earlier in May, an option of reducing the school to a one (1) tract school had been discussed if the majority of the positions were not filled. Unfortunately, none of the positions have been filled for the 2022-23 school year.
In an effort to address the staffing and safety concerns, our School Board will be hosting an Emergency Meeting to vote to close Manaugh on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 6:00 pm. Prior to this meeting, I would like to invite all parents and staff to attend an informative session on Monday, June 27th (Tonight) at 6:00 pm at Kemper Elementary School.
Once the Board conducts their Emergency Meeting and a decision has been officially announced, further information will be provided to all students, parents and staff as to school assignments and bus routes.
