COMMUNICATING WITH OUR Families

MCSD communicates with parents in several ways to be sure they are able to keep track of their students’ classroom activities as well as receive notification of schedule changes or emergency situations.

EMERGENCY ALERTS

If there is an emergency you will receive message from the District in the form of a phone call, a text message, or email. Further information will be provided under Alerts Flag on the home page of the District website. You may also receive communications directly from your school principal.

Non-emergency Alerts

The fastest way for MCSD to share information regarding school delays and/or cancellations during inclimate weather situations is through our automated call or text notification service and social media channels. Attendance calls typically are made to the listed home phone.

POWER SCHOOL

Power School is a web-based student information system which allows parents to access attendance records and other academic information.

SChool newsletters

You will recieve regular newsletter from your school(s) which include important information about your student's education, school activities, requirements, and other important information.

SUPERINTENDENT'S NEWSLETTER

Please sign up for our monthly newsletter, which includes happenings throughout the district, important information and ways our students and teachers are sharing demonstrating their successes! This newsletter is an important resource about district news for community members and parents alike. In addition, the superintendent publishes a column in the Cortez Journal every month with additional information and updates for the community.

SOCIAL MEDIA

MCSD maintains a social media presence on Facebook to serve as additional communication tool and resource for parents, students, media, and the community. Through regular posts, the District shares news, announcements and what is happening throughout the district. Be sure you're connected with us on Facebook.

We want to hear what you think

Your feedback and thoughts are important to us and we invite you to contact your school or our superintendent at any time with questions, concerns, or suggestions
