When and why did you join the district?
I joined the District in June 2021 after commuting to Telluride, Colorado for the last two years.  It is important to me to spend as much time as possible with my family.  I am honored to have been given the opportunity to work for Montezuma-Cortez School District and to be able to live and work in Montezuma County.

What is your experience?
I have thirty (30) years of Human Resource experience including HR Policies and Strategy, Recruiting and Retention, Compensation and Benefits, Employee Relations, Performance Management, HR Compliance and Workplace Safety including Risk Management and Safety Training.

What is your favorite thing about our district and/or community?
My great-great grandparents, both maternal and paternal, homesteaded in Montezuma County, specifically Goodman Point.  My grandparents raised their 7 children here.   My parents attended Montezuma-Cortez High School and married right after graduation.  I was born in Cortez and have finally returned to the area I feel like I belong.  My favorite thing about the community is the feeling of being home, where my ancestors come from.

Who was your favorite K-12 teacher and why?
My favorite teacher was most definitely my 5th grade English teacher.  I gained my love for books and reading from her.
