Urulu Yazzie

Hello, my name is Urulu Yazzie, I am the Montezuma Cortez Middle School Native American Student Success Coordinator.

I was born in Shiprock NM and have lived in Cortez for most of my life. I graduated from Montezuma-Cortez High School then attended Northern Arizona University. At NAU I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, with minors in Studio Art, Art History and Accounting.

My expertise lies in the Retail Business world where I have spent over 20 years. I decided to change my focus after wanting to spend more time with my children. I have been with the Montezuma-Cortez School District for 4 years. I started with the school district as the Grants Fiscal Manager.

My goal is to help the Indigenous youth of the MCMS prepare and excel into High School and beyond by encouraging good study techniques, behaviors and adequate attendance.
