Michelle LaPaz

Hello, my name is Michelle LaPaz.  I graduated from Oklahoma State University, in Stillwater, Oklahoma , with a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Ecology.

I have been with the Montezuma-Cortez RE-1 school district for over 11 years.  For a majority of those years, I have been a reading intervention paraprofessional.  I have worked primarily with indigenous students at the kindergarten through 5th grade level.  I was a long time substitute teacher, where I taught kindergarten for two years.  I also have experience with grades 6-12, mostly in math intervention.  

I love working with these students, especially when they have a lightbulb moment and retain what they have learned and can teach their peers.
