Sheri Noyes

Sheri Noyes is the director for District F. She was born and raised in Cortez and lives in Pleasant View. She attended Beech Street Kindergarten, Kemper and Downey Elementary Schools, Cortez Junior High School, and graduated from Montezuma-Cortez High School in 1989. She has two children who attended Lewis-Arriola Elementary, Cortez Middle School (CMS) and M-CHS. Her son graduated in 2013 and her daughter in 2016. Noyes has been actively involved and volunteering for clubs, charities, boards, and athletic programs in the RE-1 School District as well as in the community for many years. She will continue to do so because she feels it is important to encourage and support our youth in their education and extra-curricular activities as much as possible. Noyes currently represents the Montezuma-Cortez School District as the Board Representative to San Juan BOCES. After being appointed to fill the District F vacancy in 2015, she was compelled to seek the position again in November 2017, and again in 2021. Her mission is to earn the trust of the community, staff, and students as she continues to be an advocate on their behalf. She feels the district is headed in the right direction and applauds the recent change in the accreditation rating due to the hard work and dedication that was, and still is, being put forth from all areas of the district. Noyes is looking forward to working to resolve unfinished promises, promote transparency, and be proactive in the challenges that lie ahead. She hopes to provide our community with a school district we can all be proud of.
